Understanding the Developing Child Through Movement & Games: Educator Training
Join us on Friday, November 14, from 9 am to 3 pm, as we explore child development through movement and games.
Workshop Overview
In Waldorf schools, movement and games are seen as essential to the healthy development of the child. They nurture balance, coordination, rhythm, social awareness, and joy in physical expression. Through imaginative play, circle games, and cooperative movement, children learn not only physical skills but also empathy, teamwork, and respect for others. Movement is woven into every stage of development, supporting the child’s integration of body, soul, and spirit, and laying the groundwork for focused learning, emotional resilience, and harmonious growth.
Led by Whitney MacDonald
Whitney has been a Waldorf educator for over twenty-five years. He has carried a class from first through eighth grade, served as a movement and physical education teacher, and held leadership roles supporting community, health, and social inclusion. With training in Spacial Dynamics, Simplicity Parenting, and conflict resolution, Whitney has also mentored teachers and led workshops around the world.
